WinRezU
This unit makes available the Turbo Vision-style resource files to TPW
programs.
If you've had the opportunity to use TV's resource files you may
appreciate the advantages they offer over simple stream I/O.
For some reason Borland did not include the same capability with TPW.
I suspect they did not want them confusing the Windows resource picture.
I typically use the "REZ" naming convention (i.e. filename.REZ,
REZobjfile etc) to keep them separate.
The two example programs provided are straight adaptions of examples
provided by Borland to demo stream I/O. They don't need to be in two
separate programs but I kept them that way to illustrate the minimal
work required to use REZfiles.
See the TV users guide for more info on REZfiles.
WinRezU is virtually a subset of the TV Runtime Library. Therefore, I
doubt Borland would appreciate me providing the source. I am, however,
working on derivative of it which will be a little more robust and
geared toward object oriented db's. If theresult falls outside the
scope of plagiarism, I'll upload the source to that.
WinRezB is same unit compiled with the WObjectB unit vice WObjects.
This allows you to use the BWCC.dll without compiler errors.
I HAVE NOT FOUND ANY PROBLEMS USING REZFILES WITH TPW. PLEASE LET
ME KNOW OF ANY PROBLEMS. I BOUNCED THE IDEA OFF BORLAND'S TECH LINE
AND THEY DIDN'T SEE ANY TROUBLE EITHER.
Enjoy...
